Union budget 2019 countdown – what startups want
Jul 3, 2019 12:13 PM

In this episode of Young Turks, we are bringing you a budget countdown special where we try and decode ‘What Startups Want’?

Now, we have been putting together this show every year ahead of the budget, where we bring together investors, entrepreneurs and folks from the startup ecosystem to decode this very question – what startups want. And year and year the one that stays right on top of the wish list – abolish angel tax.

Earlier this year, after the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) issued a notification in February it looked like for a brief period of time, startups got some relief from the demon of angel tax.

But just a couple of days back my twitter feed was abuzz with multiple start entrepreneurs mentioning that the unpleasant angel tax notice was back and despite all the assurance, there was no respite from angel tax after all!

So in order to discuss this issue, we are joined by Vivekananda Hallekere of Bounce; Sreejith Moolayil of True Elements; Archit Gupta of ClearTax; Gopal Srinivasan, chairman, TVS Capital Funds and former chairperson, IVCA and Rehan Yar Khan, Managing Partner, Orios Venture Partners.
