08:41 AM EDT, 03/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- United Airlines (UAL) said Monday that it has received approval to equip its first aircraft type with Starlink technology from the US Federal Aviation Authority.

The company said it was issued a supplemental type certificate for the Embraer 175, and its first planned Starlink-equipped commercial flight will be in May on a United Express Embraer 175.

United said it plans to complete installation of the technology on its more-than-300 two-cabin regional fleet of airplanes by the end of the year.

The company said it will also work with Starlink to obtain approval to install the technology on each of its aircraft types.
