08:37 AM EDT, 09/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- United Airlines (UAL) said Friday that it has signed an agreement with SpaceX to equip its aircraft with Starlink's Wi-Fi service.
Financial terms of the agreement were disclosed.
The service connectivity will provide passengers on all of United's more than 1,000 planes with free access to live TV and streaming services, social media, shopping, and games on seatback screens and personal devices, the carrier said.
Testing of the service will begin early next year, with the first flights scheduled for late next year. The equipment will be installed over the next three years, the company said.
