09:46 AM EDT, 10/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- United Parcel Service ( UPS ) said Tuesday it has cut about 14,000 positions primarily within management and about 34,000 jobs in operations as part of its transformation strategy.
The company announced the job cuts in its Q3 earnings report, where it also said that the move has resulted in cost savings of about $2.2 billion as of Sept. 30.
UPS said it expects total cost savings of $3.5 billion from the initiative in 2025.
The initiative also included the closure of daily operations at 93 leased and owned buildings in the first nine months of the year, the company said.
UPS shares were up over 10% in recent trading.
