10:59 AM EDT, 10/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- United Parcel Service ( UPS ) said Monday that it will install air conditioning in 5,000 of its existing delivery vehicles in the "hottest regions" in the US and will test AC in the cargo area of its package cars.

No financial details were disclosed.

The commitment is under a new letter of agreement that the company signed with the UPS Teamsters National Negotiating Committee, the union said the same day. The retrofitting of existing vehicles is expected to be completed by June 1, 2027, according to Teamsters.

Teamsters also said its commitment is part of its current national contract with UPS, which stipulates the delivery of 28,000 air-conditioned vehicles.
