06:14 AM EDT, 09/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- United Parcel Service ( UPS ) on Wednesday warned that its services in the southern part of the US, particularly in Louisiana, could be affected by tropical storm Francine.

UPS flagged potential delays to pickup and delivery services, saying "contingency plans are in place to help ensure that shipments arrive at their final destinations as quickly as possible."

The US National Hurricane Center on Wednesday declared Francine a Category 2 hurricane, which was later downgraded to a tropical storm early Thursday.
