07:04 AM EDT, 04/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- United Parcel Service ( UPS ) said Monday that it won a "significant" air cargo contract from the United States Postal Service.
No financial details were disclosed but United Parcel Service ( UPS ) said the award is effective immediately. The company also said it will become the USPS's primary air cargo provider following a "transition period" and will move the majority of the agency's air cargo in the US.
Reuters said in a Monday report that United Parcel Service ( UPS ) replaces FedEx as the United States Postal Service's main air cargo provider. According to the report, FedEx's 22-year partnership with the agency is set to conclude as their current contract expires on Sept. 29.
FedEx did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
