03:28 PM EDT, 03/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- UnitedHealth Group ( UNH ) faced a call from Rep. Jamie Raskin to disclose the steps the company is taking to remedy the fallout from the cyberattack on the Change Healthcare unit in late February.
In a letter to Chief Executive Officer Andrew Witty, Raskin, a Maryland Democrat and a ranking member on the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, asked for details of the specific systems disrupted or targeted in the cyberattack. The lawmaker also asked what efforts the company had made to coordinate with law enforcement agencies and what steps are in place to thwart cyber threats.
"The rising number of cyberattacks against the US health care system, especially against an actor that holds outsized influence on the market, poses a clear and present threat to national security and public health," Raskin said Monday in the letter.
Raskin asked for written responses by April 8.
UnitedHealth ( UNH ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
Shares of UnitedHealth ( UNH ) fell 1.2% in recent trading Monday.
