Sep 12, 2024 9:30 AM

12:00 PM EDT, 09/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Unity Software ( U ) said Thursday that it will cancel the runtime fee for games, effective immediately, and revert to a seat-based subscription model for gaming customers.

Unity Chief Executive Matt Bromberg said the company intends to revert to a more traditional way of considering any price increases only on an annual basis moving forward.

Bromberg said the pricing changes will allow the company to continue investing in improving game development. Unity Personal will remain free, while subscription prices will increase by 8% for Unity Pro and by 25% for Unity Enterprise customers on Jan. 1, 2025, he added.

Unity Software ( U ) said the pricing changes will not impact its non-gaming industry customers.

Price: 17.87, Change: +0.65, Percent Change: +3.77
