04:51 PM EST, 11/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Universal (UVV) said Friday that it has received a notice from the New York Stock Exchange stating that it is not in compliance with a NYSE rule due to its failure to timely file its quarterly report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ended Sept. 30 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company said the NYSE notice has no immediate effect on the listing of its shares.
Universal said it has six months from Nov. 18 to regain compliance with the NYSE rules by filing the Form 10-Q with the SEC.
The company said it was unable to file the Form 10-Q on time "due to an ongoing internal investigation."
"The company is committed to completing a deliberate, thorough investigation while diligently working to fulfill all reporting obligations and currently expects to file the Form 10-Q within the six-month period granted by the NYSE notice," Universal said.
