One person died and others were injured on board a Singapore Airlines flight Monday from London to Singapore that experienced severe turbulence, the airline said in post on social media site X.

The plane, a Boeing ( BA ) 777-300ER, was forced to divert to Bangkok, Thailand where it landed "at 1545hrs local time on 21 May 2024," the statement read.

"We are in contact with Singapore Airlines regarding flight SQ321 and stand ready to support them" Boeing ( BA ) told MT Newswires. "We'll defer to the airline and local authorities for any other information."
