HP (HPQ) is among the companies artificial intelligence startup Humane is in talks with about a potential sale, according to media reports Thursday.
The maker of AI Pin, backed by Microsoft (MSFT), among others, has reportedly hired investment bank Tidal Partners to advise on a potential deal.
Apart from HP, the company is in talks with more than one telecom company, CNBC reported.
Talks of a potential sale come after AI Pin failed to impress reviewers. The $699 gadget, meant to worn on the lapel, was touted as a replacement for smartphones, but did not perform as intended.
A spokesperson for Microsoft told MT Newswires the company did not have a comment.
Neither HP nor Humane immediately responded to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
