Update: Alaska Air Group Flight Attendants Reject Labor Accord
Aug 14, 2024 3:09 PM

05:56 PM EDT, 08/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with comment from Alaska Air's ( ALK ) spokesperson in the fifth paragraph.)

Alaska Air Group ( ALK ) flight attendants voted against a tentative labor agreement, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA said Wednesday in a statement.

In June, Alaska Air ( ALK ) and the association entered into a tentative agreement to boost wages.

The agreement was rejected by 68% of the voters, while 92% of eligible voters participated, according to the union.

The union said it will survey members, draft revised proposals, and negotiate for a new deal.

"The tentative agreement for a new, three-year Association of Flight Attendants contract was not ratified by Alaska flight attendants," the company's spokesperson told MT Newswires in an email. "We remain committed to reaching an agreement that reflects the critical role of our flight attendants and is good for Alaska's long-term success. We will assess the details available to us and reconvene with Association of Flight Attendants to discuss next steps."
