Update: Alpha Modus Sues Walgreens for Alleged Patent Infringement

Alpha Modus Holdings ( AMOD ) said Tuesday it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Walgreens Boots Alliance's ( WBA ) pharmacy store chain Walgreens in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging infringement of its retail technology.

The company said the lawsuit claims Walgreens' in-store digital smart screens use technology covered by Alpha Modus's ( AMOD ) patents, including artificial intelligence tools that support in-store shopping with data insights and interactive advertising.

Walgreens declined MT Newswires' request for comment due to the "pending litigation."

Shares of Alpha Modus ( AMOD ) were down over 6% in recent Tuesday trading.
