Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) is facing a lawsuit filed by Allegro's Ceneo unit, which operates a Polish price comparison website, for alleged anti-competitive practices that impacted the subsidiary's business.
Allegro said Monday that its unit filed a lawsuit against Alphabet, Google ( GOOG ) and Google Ireland in the District Court in Warsaw, claiming that Google ( GOOG ) search results favored Alphabet's own own price comparison service and has "harmed" Ceneo's business.
Ceneo is seeking about 2.33 billion Polish zlotys ($567.5 million) in damages from the Alphabet entities, according to the statement.
A spokesperson for Google ( GOOG ) told MT Newswires that the company disagrees with the lawsuit and is considering its options.
"Our Shopping remedy has been working successfully for several years and we continue to invest in formats that support brands, retailers and comparison shopping sites of all sizes across Poland and Europe," the spokesperson added.
