06:22 AM EDT, 10/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates to include Entergy's ( ETR ) stock ticker in fourth paragraph and information from Entergy Arkansas' press release in fourth and fifth paragraph.)

Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) said late Thursday it will invest $4 billion to build a new data center in West Memphis, Arkansas through 2027.

The investment will focus on cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure, as well as local programs to increase energy resilience and affordability for residents.

The technology giant will cover the full energy costs related to the development of the facility, which will be powered by Entergy ( ETR ) subsidiary Entergy Arkansas.

Entergy Arkansas said the facility will contribute more than $1.1 billion in net benefits over the contract term and reduce electricity rates for its customers.

The facility will be supported by a new 600 megawatt solar project and backed by a 350 megawatt battery storage system in Jefferson County, Arkansas, the company said.

Google ( GOOG ) will also launch a $25 million energy impact fund to help scale energy efficiency and affordability initiatives for residents in the Crittenden County.
