Update: Amazon Partners With Databricks to Help Companies Use AI Chips

Amazon.com ( AMZN ) has struck a five-year strategic partnership with privately held Databricks intended to help businesses lower their costs developing internal artificial intelligence capabilities, Databricks disclosed on Tuesday.

Under terms of the companies' collaboration agreement, Databricks will use Amazon's ( AMZN ) Trainium AI chips to assist companies while they develop custom models built with Databricks Mosaic AI on Amazon Web Services platform, it said.

Joint customers also can use Databricks' Mosaic AI to pretrain, fine-tune and augment their platforms. The expanded partnership will also include new integrations for Databricks on the AWS Marketplace, the company said.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
