Update: Amazon Says Employees' Basic Health Care Plan Will Get Price Reduction

Amazon ( AMZN ) said Wednesday that its basic health care plan is getting a price reduction, while offering the same type of coverage.

The company said its new plan will cost employees $5 per week, down from over $7, and with copays costing $5, compared with $40 previously.

Amazon ( AMZN ) is investing over $1 billion to raise pay and lower healthcare costs for its US fulfillment and transportation employees, the company said.

Employees will see the updated health care option when they participate in Open Enrollment this fall for their 2026 benefits, Amazon ( AMZN ) said.
