Amazon's ( AMZN ) workers in Delta, in southwestern British Columbia, were awarded union certification by the local labor relations board, the private sector union Unifor said Friday.

With the union certification in place, workers can now start the process of negotiating their first collective bargaining agreement, Unifor said.

Amazon ( AMZN ) plans to appeal the decision of the board, said Kelly Nantel, an Amazon ( AMZN ) spokesperson, in an emailed statement to MT Newswires.
