04:23 PM EDT, 03/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with American Airlines' ( AAL ) comment in the fifth paragraph.)
An American Airlines' ( AAL ) 737 jetliner suffered a brake system "anomaly" after landing at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on Feb. 10, the National Transportation Safety Board in the US said Thursday in a preliminary report.
The brake did not work when the Boeing (BA) plane landed, prompting manual braking by applying pressure to the pedals while deploying the thrust reversers, the NTSB said.
An initial investigation found improperly connected hydraulic lines in the break system and a "discrepancy" with the wiring, it said.
None of the 104 passengers and crew were hurt when they disembarked via airstairs onto the overrun area, the NTSB said.
"The safety of our customers and team members is our top priority and we are fully cooperating with the National Transportation Safety Board in its investigation of American Airlines ( AAL ) flight 1632," the airline said in a statement sent to MT Newswires.
Boeing did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
