Update: American Airlines' Q2 Adjusted Earnings Fall, Revenue Rises; Full-Year Adjusted EPS Outlook Lowered

American Airlines Group ( AAL ) reported Q2 adjusted earnings Thursday of $1.09 per diluted share, down from $1.92 a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $1.05.

Operating revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $14.33 billion, up from $14.06 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $14.37 billion.

For Q3, the company expects adjusted EPS to be roughly breakeven, it said.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect normalized EPS of $0.45.

For 2024, American Airlines ( AAL ) said it now expects adjusted diluted EPS of $0.70 to $1.30. In April, the company projected adjusted diluted EPS at $2.25 to $3.25.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $1.50.

American Airlines ( AAL ) shares were up 3.5% in recent trading.
