Update: Apple Defeats Campaign to Unionize New Jersey Retail Store
May 13, 2024 8:10 AM

10:45 AM EDT, 05/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with additional details in the second, third and fourth paragraphs)

Apple ( AAPL ) employees at one of its New Jersey retail stores voted against joining the Communications Workers of America labor union, 57-41, in a vote that closed on Saturday, according to the National Labor Relations Board.

The CWA can challenge the election results within five days and it has previously filed a complaint with the NLRB alleging retaliation by the company against a leader of the campaign, according to multiple media reports.

"Instead of leaving the decision up to the workers themselves, the company turned to its usual anti-union playbook to influence the results of the election," the CWA was quoted as saying by Bloomberg.

Neither Apple ( AAPL ) nor the CWA immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
