AT&T ( T ) and Verizon (VZ) confirmed that they were hit with cyber attacks from China-linked Salt Typhoon, but their networks are now secure.

An AT&T ( T ) spokesperson told MT Newswires that, based on its investigation, China targeted a few individuals of foreign intelligence interest.

The company only identified a few cases of compromised information and is actively monitoring and addressing potential threats to customer data, AT&T ( T ) spokesperson added.

Verizon said it has contained the cyber incident, adding that an independent cyber security firm has confirmed the containment.
