Update: Boeing, Union to Continue Contract Talks on Tuesday
Oct 10, 2024 11:32 PM

06:24 AM EDT, 10/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates include Boeing's ( BA ) comment in the first and second paragraphs, as well as minor edits)

Boeing ( BA ) said Tuesday that it would continue contract negotiation with its largest union later in the day to resolve a strike involving 33,000 West Coast factory workers.

"We confirm that mediation will continue on Tuesday," a spokesperson told MT Newswires in an emailed statement.

Boeing ( BA ) and The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers had resumed contract talks on Monday in the presence of federal mediators, Reuters reported, citing the company and the union.

The union is pushing for a 40% pay increase over four years and the reinstatement of a defined-benefit pension that was lost in a previous contract, the report said.

The union did not immediately respond to an MT Newswires request for comment.
