05:01 PM EDT, 06/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates CDK Global's confirmation of cyberattack and additional details throughout.)

CDK Global is actively working with its customers following a cyber incident, the company said Wednesday.

The attack reportedly left some of its dealership clients in the auto, truck, recreational vehicle and heavy equipment sector offline for nearly a week.

CDK told MT Newswires it has notified law enforcement authorities and also begun an investigation with the help of third-party experts. It also has "begun the restoration process" and is actively engaged with customers for alternate ways to conduct business.

Bloomberg News reported earlier, citing Allan Liska, a cyberthreat specialist at security consultants Recorded Future, that BlackSuit hackers were behind the ransomware attack and are demanding tens of millions of dollars in demands.

Its clients, including AutoNation ( AN ) , Lithia Motors (LAD) and Group 1 Automotive (GPI), reportedly were warned of business disruptions following the attack.

CDK declined to share any further details with MT Newswires.
