Comfort Systems USA's ( FIX ) shares soared over 17% in premarket activity on Friday after the company overnight reported Q3 earnings more than doubled amid a surge in sales from a year ago.

The company reported Q3 net earnings late Thursday of $8.25 per diluted share, up from $4.09 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected GAAP EPS of $6.05 and non-GAAP EPS of $6.29.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $2.45 billion, up from $1.81 billion a year earlier.
