Constellation Energy ( CEG ) said Thursday that it has been awarded over $1 billion in contracts by the US General Services Administration, including a 10-year, $840 million deal, to supply power to more than 13 federal government agencies.
Under the terms of the deal, Constellation will supply the GSA with over 1 million megawatt hours annually, starting in 2025.
The energy will be supplied to the Social Security Administration, the Federal Reserve System and the Department of Veterans' Affairs, among other agencies, Constellation said.
A $172 million contract includes energy-saving upgrades for five GSA-owned facilities in Washington, DC and Maryland. The construction project is set to begin this month and last for 42 months.
Constellation Energy ( CEG ) shares were up by almost 2% in recent premarket trading on Friday.
