01:26 PM EST, 01/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with the stock movement in the last paragraph.)

Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) canceled 500 flights for Friday amid operational disruptions from "worse-than-expected winter weather."

"Inclement weather began earlier and with heavier intensity than forecast, which reduced deicing capability and slowed operations," the airline said Friday in a statement.

Also, the crew of Delta Air Lines Flight 2668 aborted takeoff Friday at the Atlanta airport due to a reported engine issue.

Earlier, Delta reported higher Q4 non-GAAP earnings and total operating revenue and said it expects 2025 earnings growth of over 10%.

The company's shares jumped 9.4% in recent Friday trading.
