Update: Delta Air Lines Flight Makes Emergency Stop in Senegal Due to 'Bird Strike'

A Delta Air Lines' ( DAL ) flight to New York City made an emergency stop at the Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar, Senegal on Saturday after a bird strike incident during takeoff, a spokesperson confirmed to MT Newswires Monday.

The carrier reaccommodated all passengers, who have arrived at their destinations, the spokesperson added.

The aircraft was a Boeing ( BA ) 767, carrying 216 passengers, Reuters reported, citing Senegal's transport ministry.

Senegal's national civil aviation agency and its Bureau of Investigations and Analysis will probe the incident, media outlets reported, citing the ministry.

Boeing ( BA ) and the Senegalese ministry did not respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
