Update: Denison Down Near 4% as Responds to Application for Judicial Review Regarding Approval for Wheeler River Project
Nov 4, 2025 8:35 AM

11:28 AM EST, 11/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Denison Mines ( DNN ) Tuesday said it acknowledged an application for judicial review by the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation against the company and the government of Saskatchewan.

Under the application, filed in the Court of King's Bench for Saskatchewan, PBCN is seeking an order setting aside the Provincial Ministerial approval allowing Denison to build a new uranium mine and processing plant at the Wheeler River project and remitting the decision back to the Saskatchewan Minister of the Environment for reconsideration.

According to the application, the government of Saskatchewan breached its duty to consult with PBCN and is required to carry out further consultation regarding the project.

Denison said it has and is continuing to undertake indigenous engagement and consultation efforts and that the government of Saskatchewan executed a thorough consultation process ahead of the project's Ministerial approval.

The company said PBCN was given the opportunity to review the draft environmental impact statement for the project starting in November 2022 and that Denison has directly engaged with PBCN since March 2023.

Denison denied the claims in the application for judicial review and plans to refute several of the statements made.

Denison's share price at last look Tuesday lost 3.9% to C$3.95 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Price: 3.96, Change: -0.16, Percent Change: -3.77
