D.R. Horton ( DHI ) shares were up 11.5% in recent Thursday trading after the company reported better-than-expected fiscal Q3 results.
The homebuilder reported fiscal Q3 earnings of $4.10 per diluted share, up from $3.90 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $3.79.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $9.97 billion, compared with $9.73 billion a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $9.61 billion.
D.R. Horton ( DHI ) said it now expects full-year revenue of $36.8 billion to $37.2 billion, compared with its previous range of $36.7 billion to $37.7 billion.
Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect $36.9 billion.
The company also said its board approved up to a $4 billion share buyback plan to replace its previous program.
