12:06 PM EDT, 08/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- enCore Energy (EU.V) said Wednesday that its attributable loss widened in the second quarter.

The uranium producer reported an attributable loss of US$9.6 million, or US$0.05 per share, widening from a loss of US$6.99 million, or US$0.06, in the year-prior quarter.

Revenue was US$5.3 million compared to nil while loss from operations increased to US$9.4 million from US$7.0 million.

enCore said the outlook for the nuclear industry remains "extremely positive" due to an expected rise in demand driven by increased electrical demand from artificial intelligence and the commitment of many sectors of the economy to achieve zero carbon emissions.

enCore shares were last seen up $0.21 to $4.49 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
