11:35 AM EDT, 08/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- EnviroGold Global ( ESGLF ) said Wednesday it is commissioning a demonstration plant that would monetize valuable metals from mine waste and tailings.
The company said it expects to commence processing customer tailings through the plant in the coming weeks.
The plant, which it acquired from the Australian government, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, was designed as a nickel leaching plant and has been repurposed for the NVRO Clean Leach Process with a replacement value significantly greater that its purchase price.
Meanwhile, EnviroGold appointed Lisa Park, Jason Amaranti and Trevor Bilney to its commercialization project team to ensure the plant's successful commissioning.
The company also engaged Deloitte to assist in securing government grants to support the development and commercialization of its of mine tailings technologies.
Philipa Varris and Bruce Higson-Smith also retired from EnviroGold's board of directors.
EnviroGold's share price at last look lost 11.1% to $0.04 in early Wednesday trading.
