Update: Ford SUVs Under Probe for Loss of Braking; Nearly 370,000 Vehicles Affected
Oct 4, 2024 8:16 AM

08:14 AM EDT, 10/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates to add statement from Ford in the third paragraph.)

Ford Motor's ( F ) Edge crossover SUVs from model years 2015-2017 are being investigated for complaints alleging loss of braking due to rear brake hose failure, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Thursday.

A total of 368,309 crossovers in the US are being looked at following 36 complaints about the issue, the NHTSA said. The complaints also allege that the loss of braking ability occurs without any prior warning and results in an increase in stopping distance, according to the agency.

A Ford spokesperson told MT Newswires that the automaker is working with the NHTSA to support the investigation.
