06:24 AM EDT, 04/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with attribution to GE Aerospace in the first paragraph and additional detail in the fourth paragraph.)

GE Aerospace (GE) said Thursday it has reached an agreement on "technical matters" with India's Hindustan Aeronautics to jointly manufacture jet engines.

Financial terms were not disclosed

Under the terms of the deal, the companies will jointly produce F414 engines in an arrangement that includes the transfer of manufacturing expertise to India, Bloomberg reported.

"GE Aerospace and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited are pleased to announce significant progress regarding F414 co-production today, having reached agreement on technical matters," GE Aerospace said in reply to MT Newswires' inquiry.

The engines will power India's fighter jets, Bloomberg reported.

The deal has been under discussion for about three years, the report said.

Hindustan Aeronautics did not respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
