General Motors ( GM ) and Unifor Local 88 have reached a tentative agreement over job security and wages at the automaker's Ingersoll, Ontario plant, the union said Wednesday.

The union's committee negotiated for the "best possible collective agreement", Unifor said.

Further details of the tentative agreement will be shared initially with the members at Sunday's ratification meeting.

Pending member ratification, GM Canada and Unifor's tentative agreement for around 1,300 CAMI Assembly employees includes "significant increases in wages, benefits, and job security," General Motors ( GM ) told MT Newswires.
