Geron ( GERN ) said late Tuesday that Chief Commercial Officer Anil Kapur will leave the company on Aug. 31 to pursue other interests.

Chief Operating Officer Andrew Grethlein will be the interim head of the commercial team while the company searches for Kapur's replacement, the company said.

Shares of Geron ( GERN ) slumped nearly 7% in premarket activity Wednesday.
