Update: Google Partners With BlackRock Unit to Build 1-Gig Pipeline of Solar Capacity in Taiwan

Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) is partnering with BlackRock's ( BLK ) Climate Infrastructure business to support the development of a 1-gigawat pipeline of new solar capacity in Taiwan, the tech giant said Monday.

As part of the collaboration, Google ( GOOG ) said it is making a capital investment in New Green Power, a Taiwanese solar energy developer owned by BlackRock ( BLK ), to provide power to its Taiwan data center complex, cloud region, and office operations.

Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed. The investment is subject to regulatory approval.

The company said it might offer excess energy to its Taiwan semiconductor suppliers and manufacturers.
