Update: Home Depot's Fiscal Q1 Earnings, Revenue Decline; Fiscal 2024 Outlook Maintained

The Home Depot ( HD ) reported fiscal Q1 earnings Tuesday of $3.63 per diluted share, down from $3.82 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $3.59.

Revenue for the quarter ended April 28 was $36.42 billion, compared with $37.26 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $36.65 billion.

The home improvement retailer also said comparable sales in fiscal Q1 fell 2.8%. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected a decline of 2.28%.

For the 53 weeks of its fiscal 2024, the company said it continues to expect diluted EPS growth of about 1% and total sales growth of roughly 1%.
