11:45 AM EDT, 09/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- i-80 Gold ( IAUX ) on Wednesday said it appointed Richard Young as its chief executive, effective immediately.

Young succeeds Ewan Downie following his retirement. Downie will continue as an advisor to the company.

Young was the founder and CEO of Teranga Gold, which was ultimately acquired by Endeavour Mining in 2021 for more than $2.5 billion. Most recently, Young served as president and CEO of Argonaut Gold, which was acquired by Alamos Gold (AGI.TO) in July.

i-80 Gold ( IAUX ) shares were last seen up $0.14 to $1.60 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
