May 23, 2024 11:15 AM

01:58 PM EDT, 05/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Imperative Care's response in the fourth paragraph.)

Inari Medical ( NARI ) said Thursday it had filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Imperative Care and Truvic Medical in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

Inari said Imperative and Truvic are infringing eight of its patents for the use of aspiration-based thrombectomy devices for the treatment of pulmonary emboli and deep vein thrombosis.

Products named in the lawsuit include the Symphony Thrombectomy System, Inari said, adding that it is seeking injunctive relief and damages.

"We do not believe we infringe upon any valid patents," Imperative told MT Newswires, adding that it will "vigorously defend" against Inari's claims.
