Lattice Semiconductor's ( LSCC ) shares jumped more than 11% in recent Monday trading after the company said it named Ford Tamer chief executive and a member of the company's board of directors, effective immediately.

Tamer succeeds Esam Elashmawi, who has been interim chief executive since June. Elashmawi will continue to serve as Lattice Semiconductor's ( LSCC ) chief strategy and marketing officer.

Tamer was most recently chief executive and president of the semiconductor company Inphi.
