Update: Live Nation Entertainment's Ticketmaster Faces UK Probe on Oasis Concert Ticket Sales
Sep 6, 2024 1:47 AM

01:13 PM EDT, 09/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Adds Ticketmaster comment in the penultimate paragraph.)

Live Nation Entertainment's ( LYV ) Ticketmaster faces a probe by the UK's Competition and Markets Authority over ticket sales for the reunion concert tour of the band Oasis.

The regulator said Thursday in a statement it would examine how dynamic pricing may have been used and how Ticketmaster's tactics may have breached consumer protection law.

The regulator is inviting ticker customers to share evidence and will examine whether people were pressured to buy tickets within a short time.

"Ticket sales sites must be transparent in their dealings with consumers and give clear and accurate information about the price people have to pay," the regulator said.

A Ticketmaster spokesperson said, "We are committed to cooperating with the CMA and look forward to sharing more facts about the ticket sale with them."

Shares of Live Nation fell 1.4% in recent trading Thursday.

Price: 93.92, Change: -1.35, Percent Change: -1.41
