Update: Maple Leaf Foods Up 10% on Q4 Adjusted Earnings Beat

Maple Leaf Foods ( MLFNF ) traded 10% higher at last look Tuesday on the TSX after reporting fourth-quarter adjusted earnings that beat analyst estimates.

Adjusted earnings rose to $88.7 million, or $0.38 per share, from $57.5 million, or $0.08, in the year-prior quarter. The FactSet consensus estimate for the measure was $0.24.

The company had sales of $1.24 million, up from $1.19 million. Adjusted EBITDA amounted to $115.1 million, up from $120.2 million.

For 2025, Maple Leaf forecast revenue growth in the mid-single-digit range. Adjusted EBITDA is also expected to grow over 2024 levels, meeting or exceeding $634 million. Capital expenditures for 2025 is expected to be in the range of $175 million to $200 million, largely focused on maintenance capital.

The company's shares were last seen up $2.28 to $24.50 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
