Update: Market Chatter: Amazon Probing Allegedly Expensive Repair Bills for Delivery Vans
Sep 3, 2025 11:46 AM

02:24 PM EDT, 09/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with company statement from a separate report in fifth and sixth paragraphs.)

Amazon ( AMZN ) is investigating allegedly expensive repair bills for its aging delivery vans that are used by small businesses to deliver packages, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing unnamed sources.

The small businesses that use the vans to move packages said they can't afford repair bills that can total $20,000 or more, according to the report.

Several contract firms known as delivery service partners relayed the same account of such repair bills, Bloomberg reported, citing interviews with the firms.

Amazon ( AMZN ) asked delivery partners to submit van repair-related disputes by September, the report said.

Amazon ( AMZN ) is working with the delivery companies to resolve their concerns about the charges, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a company spokesman.

The e-commerce giant has also identified issues with an app it issued that provides estimates for vehicle repairs and is correcting errors and issuing reimbursements where appropriate, the spokesman told the Journal.

The company didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
