Amazon.com ( AMZN ) is working on an AI chatbot codenamed "Metis" to compete with ChatGPT, Business Insider reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter and an internal document it obtained.

Metis uses an internal retrieval-augmented generation-based AI and is based on its model named Olympus, an improved version of Amazon's ( AMZN ) publicly available Titan model, the report quoted the sources as saying.

Metis will provide more up-to-date information, such as the latest stock prices, to compete with other chatbots, the report added.

Amazon ( AMZN ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
