Apple ( AAPL ) is planning a new model of the Mac mini that is expected to be released later this year, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

The new model will be the first major redesign since the mini was revamped in 2010, the report said.

The new Mac mini will have two configurations, one using an M4 chip and the other using an M4 Pro chip that hasn't been announced yet, according to the report.

Apple ( AAPL ) is also upgrading the iMac desktop, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Pro, and Mac Studio to the M4 processor, designed to power new artificial intelligence features that the company intends to launch later this year, the report said.

The company didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
