AT&T ( T ) is in talks to acquire Lumen Technologies' ( LUMN ) consumer fiber business, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

The two companies are in exclusive discussions on a deal that could value the unit at over $5.5 billion, one of the people reportedly told Bloomberg.

Both AT&T ( T ) and Lumen declined to comment to MT Newswires.
