Banco Santander (SAN) discussed a potential sale of its UK retail business with NatWest ( NWG ) , the Financial Times reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.

"Santander UK ( STNDF ) is not for sale," a Santander spokesperson told MT Newswires. The UK business is a core part of its business model and the company will continue to leverage its scale and potential upside in the future, the spokesperson added.
