Shares of Hologic ( HOLX ) were up over 20% in recent trading on Tuesday after the Financial Times reported that Blackstone (BX) and TPG (TPG) have offered to acquire the medical technology company for over $16 billion and take it private.

Hologic ( HOLX ) rejected the non-binding offer valuing the group at $16.3 billion to $16.7 billion, including debt, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter, who added there is still a chance that discussions could be revived.

None of the three companies immediately replied to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
